The GTS series of bikes are suited to riders wanting to take trips into the countryside with their cycling buddies or to participate in challenging Sportive events of varying lengths and levels of difficulty. They are entry level bikes that have been designed so you get maximum enjoyment out of it and feature well known brands such as Shimano and FSA.
The GTS Comp is built with GT’s lightweight hydroformed aluminium tubing that features smooth welds and a stylish paint finish. It also features GTS carbon forks, with alloy steerer, and Shimano Sora 9 speed drivetrain components (18 gears) which provides good shifting performance. The chainset featured is a FSA Tempo compact (50x34 chainrings) and couple this with the large rear cassette (12-25), you have at your disposal a wide-ranging set of gears that will hopefully make your cycling more enjoyable, especially when climbing the steep hills in your area. You still have plenty of gearing when you want to put the hammer down though, so having the compact means you get the best of both worlds.
Stopping you are a set of Tektro brake calipers and provide good brake modulation in wet and/or dry conditions. The wheelset on the GTS Comp is a mixture of Jalco rims built on a pair of Formula hubs, which then are encased with a pair on Continental Ultra Sport tyres (700x25c). These give great grip and provide excellent puncture protection resistance.
Finally, the finishing kit (bars, stem and seat post) are all GT. These are great value products manufactured by GT and help to keep the price point as low as possible without lowering the quality of this bike.
