At Praxis, we know it’s the little things that add up.
All of our chainrings are created with our proprietary forging process which allows us to manipulate the ring shape and tooth profile more than ever before. With our “One-Shot” forging we are able to increase the amount of shifting features on a chainring which normal CNC manufacturing won’t allow.
The process also creates a harder and tougher tooth surface for durability. Individual tooth profiles, alternating tooth angles, timed ramps and tactically placed shift elevators are all jam packed onto a Praxis ring. Translation: All of these small aggregate features add up to the most durable and consistent shifting rings ever produced for cyclists.

WHAT IS IT:
A superior manufacturing process that FORGES 7075 T6 aluminum chainrings with more tooth detail than ever before.
WHY WE DO IT:
The process delivers a harder/tougher overall chainring tooth and also allows for more shifting features to be added to a ring than traditional CNC manufacturing allows.
HOW WE DO IT:
With some of the most cutting edge forging presses in the world, Praxis uses a our “One-Shot” forging process to create our rings.

At Praxis the primary reason we forge is that it allows us to create dramatically shaped teeth and ramping surfaces on our chainrings. Our “One Shot” forging process allows us to make these shapes, and at the same time we create a harder and tougher ring than the competition’s machined rings.
Imagine for a second, you have a big hammer and you are hitting a cold block of metal trying to shape it. Now, imagine the hammer is the size of a car and when you swing that hammer you’ve got hundreds to thousands of tons of pressure behind it. Yep. It’s a very intense and difficult process of that requires a great deal of tooling know-how. This manufacturing process happens to be our specialty.

Our LevaTime™ shifting is the product of years of relentless testing and tweaking. The final result is a set of some of the finest and fastest-shifting rings available. With a LevaTime™ ring, several shift elevators are placed strategically at points on the ring to provide a perfectly timed lift.
Synchronized ramps are tuned with a specific inner ring, providing a clean channel for the chain to move upwards. Each individual tooth is sculpted to handle a specific duty. Along with that, precisely located scallops help control chain movement and prevent chain suck.
After riding these rings, you’ll realize these aren’t your average, ordinary chainrings.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING : MATCHED SETS
Like all great marriages in life, timing is everything. A large part of our LevaTime™ shifting system is the timing and clocking of the outer and inner rings together. All of the Praxis ring combinations are “Matched Sets” precisely designed in concert for an optimized shifting experience. Praxis engineers spend an obscene amount of time laboring over tooth shape, ramping, and the precise location of shift elevators. All of this is done in order for the inner and outer ring to be in perfect sync at the moment you shift.
NO TWO TEETH ARE ALIKE
One thing many people notice right away is the complex shaping of the teeth on a Praxis chainring. With all the duties required of a chainring for smooth shifting, we needed to sculpt very elaborate teeth profiles to better control the chain during upshifts and downshifts. By forging a chainring where no two teeth are alike, we create a ring-set that allows the chain to smoothly move laterally and vertically.

You’ve invested in an amazing bicycle with all the bells and whistles, and if your front shifting isn’t spot on…it will absolutely ruin your ride.
You might not think about upgrading your chainrings that much… but we do.
COMPATIBILITY
Our road rings are made to mount to a traditional 5-arm 110 or 130BCD road crank. Our MTB rings are made to mount to a 4-arm 104/64 MTB crank. If fact, we’d like to think that our rings do a great job complimenting many of the most common cranks in the market. We also know you mix and match drivetrain components, and that can affect shift performance. NOTE: For the absolute best shifting experience with Praxis Works rings we highly suggest using a KMC™, Shimano™ or Campagnolo™ chain.
SHIMANO™ — Our rings work great with the new Shimano™ 10/11sp chain and drivetrains (Di2 included) when mounted to a traditional 5-arm mount 110 or 130 BCD Shimano crank. They also work great with traditional 5-arm mount aftermarket cranks such as THM, Rotor, Cannondale, Specialized, LOOK and FSA cranks… *Our rings do not mount to the new DA9000 crank with its new custom asymmetrical BCD.
SRAM™ — Our rings work great with the SRAM™ 10sp and “SRAM 22” 11sp chain drivetrains when mounted to a traditional 5-arm mount 110 or 130 BCD SRAM crank. They also work great with traditional 5-arm mount aftermarket cranks such as THM, Rotor, Cannondale, Specialized, LOOK and FSA cranks.
EXOGRAM RED/FORCE CRANKS- Our rings are not made for the newer SRAM RED/FORCE ‘Exogram’ crank as it has a custom 4-arm mounting. These cranks have 4 arm mounts visible, with the “hidden 5th” mount behind the crank arm.
YAW FRONT DERAILEUR- Our rings shift great with the new SRAM™ “Yaw” front derailleur.
CAMPY — Our rings work great with Campy 10/11sp chain and drivetrains (EPS included) when mounted on a traditional 5-arm mount 110 or 130 BCD crank such as a THM, Rotor, Cannondale, Specialized, LOOK, FSA crank. *Our rings do not mount to Campy cranks as Campy uses their own proprietary BCD pattern.
BALANCED FOR SHIFT QUALITY
The highest overall shift quality is our primary goal and what we constantly strive for. In order to get there, we focus on a balance of five main attributes: Stiffness, Weight, Durability, Shift Features, and Price. Many other companies tend to focus on just one or two of these attributes, and then the shifting quality suffers. Praxis Cold Forged chainrings are simply the most balanced rings available in order to deliver the highest shift quality.
